Event Information
Set in a Lisbon institute for the blind, Imagine follows Ian, a charismatic teacher who helps his visually impaired students navigate the world through sound, intuition, and imagination rather than traditional aids. His unconventional methods challenge routine and inspire his students, particularly Eva, to rediscover confidence and independence. With many of the young actors themselves blind or visually impaired, the film offers remarkable authenticity and emotional depth. Through its poetic cinematography, Imagine invites reflection on how education can nurture curiosity, trust, and self-belief in young people with disabilities. The screening will be introduced by Ugo Marsili, Associate Professor in the Department of Languages and Cultures, and Lead for Inclusion, Development, and Innovation. Drawing on his expertise in accessible education Ugo will lead a post-screening Q&A.
