Event Information
Join us for the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø’s flagship LGBTQ+ event, the Wolfenden Lecture, featuring Martin Kaufman, a leading figure in ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø’s gay liberation movement of the 1970s. In his talk, ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Coming Out, Martin will share how he and fellow students sparked a movement for gay and lesbian rights, organised the first public meetings on campus, and helped shape LGBTQ+ history in ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø.
The evening will also feature performances from the London Gay Men’s Chorus, of which Martin has been a member for 27 years, and a special exhibition celebrating the bravery and activism that transformed LGBTQ+ life in ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø.
Earlier that day, Martin will lead a walking tour of ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø (2:00 pm – 4:00 pm), highlighting key sites from the early days of LGBTQ+ activity. Booking details for the tour will be available soon.
