On Wednesday, 13th May 2026, you are warmly invited to join the conference Women, Girls and Justice: Contemporary Challenges and Debates. Hosted by the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø’s Crime and Justice Research Cluster (CJRC), this free event from 9:45 – 16:00 brings together policy, practitioner, academic and community partners to explore key issues for frontline work with women and girls in the criminal justice system. The conference includes: 1. Keynote speakers: 1) Professor Nancy Lombard (Glasgow Caledonian University) on ‘Justice Work: Sisters (Having to) Do It for Themselves: Women’s Experiences of the Criminal Justice System When Reporting Domestic Abuse and Stalking’. 2) Professor Mary Corcoran (Keele University) on 'The circuitous life cycles in criminal justice for women'. 2. Roundtable discussion on current challenges featuring Alana House Women's Community Project, Elizabeth Fry Charity and SAFE. 3. Opportunities for ideas generation, networking and to learn about the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø’s CJRC through the session "Fear, Zines and Empowerment: A Showcase of the Cluster's Research" Food and refreshments will be provided.
