Overview
Module aims and purpose
This module will explore the role of infrastructure in development and explain theoretical frameworks that underpin the processes of design, construction and implementation of infrastructure development projects. It focuses on the challenges of delivering infrastructure projects and the impact of these on achieving sustainable development goals.Â
Module learning outcomes
By the end of the module, it is expected that students will be able to:Â
- Evaluate challenges pertinent to sustainable development of infrastructure projects in developed and developing countriesÂ
- Critique relevant theories to infrastructure development Â
- critical analysis of stakeholder participation and inclusive delivery of infrastructure development projects and the impact of these on sustainable development of communities.

- Stakeholder value considerations and impact of infrastructure development on communitiesÂ
- Funding models and sources of funding
- Exemplifying applications (examples of infrastructure development projects in different contexts)
