The School of the Built Environment is highly interdisciplinary in nature, covering a range of diverse subject areas including architecture, construction management, energy and environmental engineering. Our staff have extensive experience as advisers, consultants and visiting lecturers to companies, governments and universities globally.
Our MSc programmes focus on ensuring an excellent student experience and our curriculum extends beyond accepted models of best practice to incorporate the latest findings from research.
While the majority of our courses are available as two-year programmes to fit around your existing commitments, some are only available as one-year, intensive-study variants. Both the full-time and flexible, part-time modes of the programmes are delivered on a modular basis with teaching arranged in block weeks. Learn more about flexible modular options.
Our excellent facilities include a dedicated computer lounge for use by our students, equipped with the latest digital technology and software, including: building information modelling, 3D laser scanning, 3D visualisation, virtual reality headsets, building energy simulations and urban microclimate simulations.
