History
Study within a truly interdisciplinary environment, broaden your understanding of history and build a unique pathway tailored to your interests and aims.
Thanks to our cooperation with other departments across the University, the Museum of English Rural Life and external organisations such as Historic England, the National Trust, the British Library, Parliament and the Wellcome Trust, our students work in a truly interdisciplinary environment and are part of a vibrant academic community. 100% of our research is of international standing (Research Excellence Framework 2021, combining 4*, 3* and 2* submissions – History.)
As a master’s student, you will become an important part of the Department and its many interdisciplinary research centres. Master’s students are involved in our research seminar series and are routinely invited to our conferences and events. We also have a dedicated postgraduate room, where master’s and doctoral students work together, exchange ideas and support each other.
We offer you the opportunity to build your own pathway within our programme, enabling you to specialise in your preferred area. MA History is also a flexible programme that can be studied on a full-time or part-time basis to suit you, as well as on a modular basis.
