Guest Wi-Fi Networks
There are two guest Wi-Fi networks on campus:
- Eduroam Visitor Access (for UoR guests and visitors)
-
Sky Public Wi-Fi (unsecured access for anyone)
For information about both of these networks and when they should be used, see our post .
Eduroam Visitor Access
Wi-Fi network name (SSID) = eduroam
This should be requested in advance by a staff member and is set up by the Service Desk, use the form to request this. Log in details will be sent directly to the user.
Sky Public Wi-Fi

"Public_WiFi" is an unsecured Wi-Fi network run by Sky Business which is available in many public areas of the University, such as cafés.

Eduroam for visiting staff and students
If you are visiting the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø from another institution which also uses eduroam, you can use our eduroam network. Just log in to the eduroam Wi-Fi network using your own credentials. You do not need to have a guest account set up for you. Note that some institutions may have special instructions or additional steps to connect to eduroam so if you are visiting from somewhere else and have problems, please contact your own IT department who are best placed to help you.
This also applies if you are a UoR staff or student visiting elsewhere; wherever you see 'eduroam' appear in your list of Wi-Fi networks, you can get online. If you are having issues connecting when you are somewhere else, please contact DTS.
Eduroam for UoR staff & students
UoR Staff and students should use the secure Eduroam Wi-Fi network, not the Public network. If you are having difficulty connecting to Eduroam, please see our Eduroam Wi-Fi webpages for connections instructions and troubleshooting tips.
Need Public Wi-Fi for an event?
Wi-Fi can also be made available in certain locations for the duration of a specific event. Please contact DTS if you need Wi-Fi for visitors to a public event.
