Areas of interest

My research focuses mainly on empirical microeconomics, in particular crime, health and labour economics. I also have an unhealthy interest in non-standard causal decomposition frameworks. 

Postgraduate supervision

I am happy to supervise any empirical work in crime, health, labour as well as and topic in microeconometrics.

Background

In short, I obtained my undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and my PhD at the Tinbergen Institute and the University of Amsterdam. I joined the faculty at the University of Mannheim in 2013. Following an unfortunate neck injury, I was forced to take a long break from work from 2016-2020. I joined the faculty at the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø in 2020.
