If English is not your first language, you can use the TEEP (Test of English for Educational Purposes) to demonstrate your English language skills.

TEEP assesses reading, writing, speaking and listening skills needed for university study. The test is topic-linked, with each part of the test focusing on different aspects of an academic topic.

Developed at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø

TEEP was developed by the International Study and Language Institute (ISLI) at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø. It is typically for students who want to begin full-time study at the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø.

Other UK universities accept TEEP certificates as evidence of a student's academic English proficiency.

You should check acceptance rules and required levels directly with the relevant admissions office before committing to TEEP.

How we test you

The ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø offers online TEEP as a take-at-home test for external candidates. Parts 1–5 are delivered as one session and part 6 (speaking) is delivered as a separate session through a video call. Part 6 may be on a different day. The paper-based TEEP is only available internally.
