Background
Dr Furkan DoÄŸan is a legal scholar and practitioner working across the United Kingdom and Türkiye, specialising in commercial and maritime law. He currently serves as Visiting Fellow at the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø and Visiting Lecturer at Piri Reis University, Istanbul. His work bridges academia and practice, with a particular focus on shipping and insurance law. Alongside his academic roles, he maintains an active professional practice through DOÄžAN | Legal Consultants, a full-service law firm engaged in both advisory and litigation matters. He advises shipowners, P&I Clubs, ports, logistics providers and insurers on contentious, transactional and regulatory issues within the maritime and transport sectors.
