Background

Sue brings over 30 years of diverse experience in pharmacy, having worked across community pharmacy, private and NHS hospitals, GP practices, and in electronic prescribing. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in clinical pharmacy and is a qualified independent prescriber, specialising in asthma. Sue is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and was awarded Advanced Stage II membership of the Faculty of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in 2018.

Her journey into academia began in 2010 with several temporary teacher practitioner roles at the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø. This evolved into a permanent position in 2015, where she led the design and implementation of hospital placements at the Royal Berkshire Hospital as part of the new MPharm programme. In 2017, she transitioned to postgraduate education within the School of Pharmacy, taking on the role of Programme Director for the Prescribing course and supporting the JPB diploma.

In 2021, Sue returned to the MPharm programme full-time, contributing to the accreditation team responsible for implementing the new GPhC standards. She played a key role in shaping the placement and prescribing strategy. Currently, she serves as the module convenor for the final-year pharmacy practice module.
