Areas of interest

A key area of interest is helping students become autonomous learners, particularly in relation to greater assessment literacy. In recent years, I have taking an active interest in responsible of use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in education. As a key member of the Foundation team and academic tutor, I am also interested in supporting students’ transitions to university.

Background

Prior to joining the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø in 2019, I taught English for general and academic purposes in Spain, Italy, China and other universities in the UK. Since joining the University, I have taught on Pre-sessional English, Academic English, and Foundation Year programmes. In addition to my roles listed above, I was the Chair of the InForm Editorial Board, overseeing publication of two issues and two conferences. I have also written materials which focus on diversity and inclusion for the pre-sessional programme.
