Entrepreneurship

The Knowledge Exchange and External Partnerships team works closely with the – established in 2007 and delivering leading-edge research in the field of entrepreneurship and start-up businesses. Henley Centre for Entrepreneurship also offers through (HELAB). HELAB offers business idea and start up clinics year round, whilst also co-ordinating three major events for students annually, with each one helping students take another step towards starting their own business. They also offer additional opportunities to support students in throughout their entrepreneurial journey.

Henley Centre for Entrepreneurship and HELAB also offer  for our alumni community, and for local businesses.

 

Your Entrepreneurs Scheme (YES)

Each year, working with Early Career Researchers (ECRs), the Knowledge Exchange and External Partnerships team manages the University’s entry to the national (YES) which helps develop business awareness and entrepreneurship skills in our postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers. The ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø is delighted to have a cohort of Entrepreneurs in Residence, of which some are funded by the prestigious , sharing their expert knowledge and experience with academics, early-career researchers and students to help them build the entrepreneurial skills and thinking required in the commercialisation of their research.

Our YES teams have a very high success rate, with the latest round leading in YES 25 leading to 3 top awards. These included the best Sustainable Business Plan, the best Food and Drink Business Plan and also the peoples choice award. 

The competition begins each September, with recruitment starting in April / May. If you would like the KEEP team to come and advertise to your school or department please email keep@reading.ac.uk
