University accommodation provides a safe and secure place for you to live, study and socialise as part of a supportive community.

We are able to guarantee single-occupancy accommodation to students who apply via Clearing at the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø, provided you meet the following criteria:

• you have accepted your academic offer by the deadline provided in your offer letter
• you have applied for accommodation at the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø by 17:00 on Wednesday 19 August 2026
• the programme you have applied for at the ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø is a full-time undergraduate programme beginning in September 2026
• you accept your accommodation contract within 48 hours of receiving your accommodation offer.

What accommodation options we have available will depend on when you apply.

Please note: Childs Hall has been undergoing planned building enhancement works during the academic year 2025/26. This may extend into the academic year 2026/27. Should this be the case and your room booking is affected, compensation will be applied to rooms impacted at a rate of 5% or 10% where relevant. Planning to live at home?

Not all students want or need to move to attend university. It’s becoming more common for students to live at home and travel to campus.

We want our commuting students to feel just as much a part of our community as those who live on campus. The ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø can be a great option due to our:

• excellent transport links. ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø train station is a major transport hub, so it’s easy to travel to ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø from many parts of the UK. ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø Buses runs regular direct bus services from the station to the University.
• parking on campus. Although parking is limited, you can apply for a parking permit if you are eligible.
• support and socialising opportunities. Commuter students can use all of the University’s facilities and support services, join our clubs and societies, and get a part-time job on campus. We also offer welcome events for commuter students and can connect you with a commuter student mentor.
